Queens Gateway Makes List of Top 100 U.S. Schools Teaching Personal Finance
Queens Gateway to Health Sciences placed 7th on the 2019 ranking of the “100 Best W!se High Schools Teaching Personal Finance”, released by Working in Support of Education (W!se). W!se is a leading educational nonprofit with a mission to develop the financial literacy of young Americans. Being placed on the “100 Best” ranking means that students at Queens Gateway to Health Sciences earned outstanding scores on W!se’s national standardized Financial Literacy Certification Test.
The “100 Best” ranking is the only national ranking in high school financial education. It was created by W!se to recognize schools of excellence in its national network of schools that participate in the Financial Literacy Certification program. The program, offered at high schools in 48 states, supports personal finance and provides students with an opportunity to become Certified Financially Literate™ if they pass W!se’s Financial Literacy Certification Test after instruction.
This year's celebration and ceremony was held at the New York Stock Exchange where some of Queens Gateway's staff and students represented our school to receive this honor. In addition, Queens Gateway student Marieya Jagroop had the privileged of speaking at the event.
